IIHS launches professional Bachelor’s Programme in Dental Therapy and Oral Hygiene

The International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) has launched a Professional Bachelor’s in Dental Therapy and Oral Hygiene programme aimed at advancing oral healthcare standards in Sri Lanka, said a release.

It said that this programme equips dental professionals with specialized skills to address the country’s evolving oral health needs and enhance public health outcomes.

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical training, focusing on preventive care, patient management, and community health engagement. Distinguished guests at the launch included Dr. Ananda Jayalal, Deputy Director General of Health Services, and M. Prabashini Kamaradiwela, President of the Government School Dental Therapists Association, who endorsed the programme’s significance in improving oral health accessibility and standards nationwide.
