Hosts record first victory
GCC Junior Cricket Championship 2024
Hosts’ GCC’s Red team played their first matches of the tournament and recorded convincing victories as eight matches of the Global Cricket Club Junior Championships 2024 were completed on schedule during the weekend.
In the Under 13 group GCC Red recorded a 6-wicket win over Sanath Jayasuriya Foundation, while in the Under 15 group they trounced SA Academy by 128 runs. In another high-margin victory in the U-13 group, ARS Academy beat Colts Academy by 110 runs. Commenting on the tournament, GCC President Manoj Jayasanka said that he was very happy with the progress of the tournament so far, and that the quality of cricket and sportsmanship on display was inspiring.
