Heavy showers in Eastern, Uva, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern Provinces

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Eastern, Uva, North-Central and Northern provinces. Fairly heavy showers about 75mm can be expected at some places in the Eastern and Uva provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places.
Several spells of showers may occur in the North western province.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and sea areas off the coast extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers and the General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The rainy condition is expected to temporarily increase over the southwestern parts of the island from tonight (25 June) and during the next few days.
