The atmospheric conditions are favorable for afternoon thundershowers in most parts of the island.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in the most parts of the island during the evening or night. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Uva, Eastern, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-central provinces.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the coastal areas of Northern, Eastern and North-western provinces during the morning too.
Winds will be Westerly to South-westerly in direction in the sea areas and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
The sea areas around the island can be moderate at times. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern and North-central provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts. Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over other areas of island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
