Govt. schools reopen today

All government schools will reopen today (10), according to the Ministry of Education.

Only students in Grades 5, 10, 11, 12, and 13 however will be permitted to attend school from Monday through Friday. Students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 only need to go to school once a week.

Schools with less than 200 students may reopen for all Grades from August 10 if there is adequate space to maintain physical distancing.

Primary schools with over 200 students will reopen in the following manner: Grades 1 and 5 – Monday; Grades 2 and 5 -Tuesday; Grades 3 and 5 -Wednesday and Grades 4 and 5 -Thursday, Friday

In secondary schools with over 200 students, classes for Grades 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 will be held on Monday, classes for grades 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 on Tuesday, classes for grades 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 on Wednesday and classes for grades 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 on Thursday and Friday. The duration of school for grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be from 7.00 am till 1.30 pm, while it will be from 7.30 am until 3.30 pm for Grades 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Teaching staff of schools will have to report for duty from today and they will be entrusted with maintaining health guidelines as well. Principals have also been informed not to open canteens until further notice.
