Govt. saddled with 60 disputes following shifting of Manning Market to Peliyagoda

Around 60 disputes had cropped up after the Manning Market was shifted to a new complex at Peliyagoda, State Minister of Urban Development, Coast Conservation, Waste Disposal, and Public Sanitation, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa said.
A committee had been appointed to resolve those issues, he said.
Godahewa said: “Some of the people who owned shops at the Manning Market have leased them to others. There have always been some issues between some members of these two groups. They have taken a turn for the worse since we shifted them to a new place.”
The Minister said they were also investigating allegations that shops at the Peliyagoda Complex had been leased to some individuals who had never operated at the Manning Market.
