Misty condition can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces in the morning.
Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces while several spells of showers may occur in the Hambantota district too. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Winds will be South-easterly to Easterly and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be moderate but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
