Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Eastern and Uva and provinces and North-Central province.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.
Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Thundershowers accompanied with severe lightning are likely to occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Badulla and Nuwara-Eliya districts after 1.00 p.m. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
ACTION REQUIRED:
The Department of Meteorology advises that people should:
Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
Avoid open areas such as paddy fields, tea plantations and open water bodies during thunderstorms.
Avoid using wired telephones and connected electric appliances during thunderstorms.
Avoid using open vehicles, such as bicycles, tractors and boats etc.
Beware of fallen trees and power lines.
For emergency assistance contact the local disaster management authorities.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the early hours of the morning.
Showers will occur at times in the Central, Uva, Eastern and Northern provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Uva and Central provinces and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts. Several spells of showers will occur in Anuradhapura district. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 1.00 p.m. and fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
