WEATHER FORECAST FOR 05 APRIL 2025

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Northern and North-central provinces during the morning.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western coastal areas, the Southern province and in Monaragala, Ampara and Batticaloa districts while showers or thundershowers will occur in the other areas of the island during the afternoon or night. Heavy rainfall of above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka from 05th to 14th of April  this year.

The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (05th) are Kahawa, Meetiyagoda, Elamaldeniya, Ambakolawewa and Bundala at about 12:13 noon.
