Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
A few showers may occur in Central, Uva and Eastern provinces. Mainly fair weather will prevail in the other areas of the island.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Fairly strong winds can be expected at times in Uva, Central and North-Western provinces and in Ampara, Hambantota and Kegalle districts. Wind speed may increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Pottuvil to Matara via Hambantota.

Due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to continue during the next few days.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Showers are likely in the Western, North-western and Northern provinces and in Trincomalee, Galle and Matara districts during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at most places of the island after 1.00 pm. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern and North-central provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Due to influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and likely development of a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of the island, an increase in rainfall is expected across the island from today (06) and over the next few days.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Showers are likely in the Southern and Eastern provinces during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at most places of the island after 1.00 pm. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-central provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (where winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere converge) affects the island’s weather. As a result, an increase in rainfall is expected over the island after 6 May.
For today:
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central and Uva provinces and in Ampara district during the early hours of the morning.
Cloudy conditions will prevail over the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces and the Ampara district. Morning showers are expected in these areas. Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places of the island after 1.00 pm. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Polonnaruwa districts.
Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern and North-central provinces and in Hambantota district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
