Mainly fair weather will prevail in most parts of the island.
Winds will be easterly to north-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Matara via Kankasanthurai, Trincomalee, Pottuvil and Hambantota, and winds will be south-westerly or variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills the Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
