The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) has called applications for its two flagship Chemistry programmes: the Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) degree in Chemical Science and the Graduateship in Chemistry (GIC) for the June 2025 intake.

The BSc Hons is a four-year full-time degree accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), and aligned with the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) Level 6. This program provides an in-depth education in Chemistry and includes a unique subsidiary management component, equipping students with the skills needed for leadership roles in science and industry.

The GIC is a four-year programme that awards a professional qualification accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) since 2012. Both the BSc Hons and GIC offer a strong foundation in organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry during the first two years, followed by advanced electives and industry-relevant modules. Students also have opportunities for research projects or internships in their final years, based on academic performance.

The Institute’s faculty comprises senior academics and professionals from leading universities and industries, ensuring a high standard of teaching and mentorship. To support students’ academic journeys, IChemC offers various forms of financial assistance, including merit-based scholarships, bursaries, and aid for underprivileged and high-performing students.
