Dunukara, Gayani win race walking titles

Men’s winners of the race walking championship

Sandaruwan Dunukara and P.B. Gayani won the men’s and women’s race walking events respectively of the National Sports Festival held at Mahiyanganaya over the weekend.

While Dunukara clocked one hour, 37 minutes and 40 seconds to win, Y.S. Wimalasuriya and D.M.D. Rukmal finished second and third respectively.

Gayani returned a time of one hour, 49 minutes and 35 seconds to win. Kalhari Madarika and Dinusha Dilhani finished second and third respectively.

The race walking, cycling and marathon championships of the National Sports Festival were conducted under Nestlé Nestomalt banner.
