Sheikh Zayed Foundation of Dubai has agreed to help provide clean drinking water and toilets to rural schools in Sri Lanka upon the request of Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa during his recent visit to the country.

It was the result of a successful discussion on enhancing friendship and cooperation between the two countries, between Minister Rajapaksa and President and Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Foundation, Hamad Salem Bin Kardous Al Ameri.

The Sheikh’s family in Dubai had also agreed to invest in projects in Sri Lanka.

“This is a great achievement for us to see such top investors willing to invest in Sri Lankan projects and businesses. Dubai has developed in a very short period of time,” Rajapaksa said.

Ameri pointed out that Sri Lankans were well received in the United Arab Emirates. Representatives of the Sheikh Zayed Foundation and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Dubai, Malraj de Silva were also present on the occasion.
