Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Kalutara districts during the morning.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over the island.
Wind speed will be (15-30) kmph. Winds will be south-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Batticaloa via Trincomalee, and north-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Matara via Pottuvil and Hambanthota. Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island.
Sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northcentral and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the morning.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts after 1.00 pm. Dry weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in the Northern, North-central, North-western, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern
and Southern provinces and in Monaragala district.
The Heat Index Forecast is calculated by using relative humidity and maximum temperature and this is the condition that is felt on your body. This is not the forecast of maximum temperature. It is generated by the Department of Meteorology for the next day period and prepared by using global numerical weather prediction model data.

Effect of the heat index on human body is mentioned in the above table and it is prepared on the advice of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
ACTION REQUIRED
Job sites: Stay hydrated and takes breaks in the shade as often as possible.
Indoors: Check up on the elderly and the sick.
Vehicles: Never leave children unattended.
Outdoors: Limit strenuous outdoor activities, find shade and stay hydrated.
Dress: Wear lightweight and white or light-colored clothing.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northcentral and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the morning.
A few showers may occur in the coastal areas of the Western and Southern provinces and Puttalam district during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, Uva and North-western provinces after 1.00 pm.
Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fair weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
