Weather forecast issued at 05.30 a.m. on 06 March 2024 by the Department of Meteorology

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning

Showers may occur at a few places in Southern province and in Ratnapura and Kalutara districts in the evening or night. Mainly dry weather will prevail in the other areas of the island.

Winds will be Northerly to North-easterly. wind speed will be (20-30)kmph.

The sea areas around the island will be slight.

Dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.

Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-central provinces and in Hambantota, Trincomalee districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
