Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night.Mainly dry weather will prevail in the other areas of the island.
Winds will be easterly or north-easterly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Matara via Trincomalee, Pottuvil and Hambantota, and winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (15-30) kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in most part of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and Southern provinces and in Anuradhapura and Mannar districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
