In our front-page news item, ‘Sisisena, others pay part of compensation to Easter Sunday carnage victims’ yesterday, we inadvertently said former head of State Intelligence Service (SIS) SDIG Nilantha Jayawardena had not paid anything.

We now learn that SDIG Jayawardena paid Rs 4.1 mn out of Rs 75 mn compensation he was directed to pay by the Supreme Court.

The error is regretted.
