Commonwealth Day: Ex-CB Governor to deliver keynote address
Former Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy will deliver the keynote speech on Commonwealth Day, 10 March, at 6:30 pm at Capri Club, Colombo 7. His speech will be based on the theme “Personal and Community Resilience.” The event is being organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society of Sri Lanka.
The South African High Commissioner, Sandile Edwin Schalk, will be the Chief Guest and will also deliver a speech on the topic “South Africa’s Economy, Culture, and the Importance of the Commonwealth.”
Commonwealth Day is celebrated every year by the 56 Commonwealth member countries on the second Monday of March. This year, it falls on Monday, 10 March, 2025. The theme for Commonwealth Day 2025 is “Together We Thrive.”
