Colombo not on Japanese PM’s agenda
Authoritative sources yesterday (03) said that Colombo was not on Japanese PM Fumio Kishida’s agenda.
The Japanese PM’s participation at a two-day summit of the Group of 20 advanced and emerging economies in New Delhi from 09 Sept., fuelled speculation here that he would visit Colombo close on the heels of his Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Kayashi Yoshimasa’s talks with the Wickremesinghe-Rajapaksa government.
Sources said that Japan was still upset over the unilateral cancellation of the Light Train Transit (LRT) project by the SLPP government in Sept., 2020.
