Ceylon Energy, in collaboration with HJT China, has successfully completed the Mahiyangana and Kappalthurei 33kV power distribution lines, alongside the Uhana Gantry, a key component of the Supporting Electricity Supply Reliability Improvement Project (SESRIP). SESRIP aims to enhance energy access in underserved regions of Sri Lanka, covering 2,372 kilometers of low-voltage lines and 106 rural electrification schemes. The project will provide reliable electricity to over 35,000 households, particularly in the Northern, Eastern, Uva, and North Central provinces. With a total investment of USD 42 million funded by the Asian Development Bank, SESRIP also focuses on integrating renewable energy sources, improving electricity reliability, and supporting sustainability goals.
