Central Cultural Fund records significant revenue growth in terms of USD

Director General of the Central Cultural Fund, Prof. Gamini Ranasinghe, has told the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Religious Affairs and Co-Existence that USD revenue had increased by 614%.

Prof. Ranasinghe has said that the CCF which was in debt two years ago was operating profitably. According to him more than three thousand US dollars were earned daily by providing the opportunity for foreigners to see the beauty of the sunrise from the top of Sigiriya.

The Director General said that the sectors that could further attract tourists around Sigiriya were being identified and KOICA has agreed to provide assistance to the tune of USD eight million to achieve primary objectives.The CCF officials requested the committee to look into the possibility of filling vacancies and also provide permanent employment to 286 workers.
