Business World International Conference & Awards Ceremony was held in grandeur at Taj Samudra

The Business World International Conference & Awards Ceremony organized by Business World International Organization INC-USA, the event which is recognized, as one of the most prestigious Business Award Festivals in the Asia Pacific Region, was held in grandeur, on 17th May 2024 at Taj Samudra, Colombo with the participation of several Business Personalities and Celebrities of Sri Lanka. The theme of this year is dedicated to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals for the 2030 Agenda.
The Chief Guest was Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana (Speaker of the Parliament) and Guests of Honour were Dr. Lidia Paul (International President – BWIO Australia), M. Senthil Thondaman (Governor – Eastern Province), Tareq Md Ariful Isla (High Commissioner of Bangladesh), Bashu Dev Mishra (Nepal Embassy in Sri Lanka), Dr. B. Moazami Goodarzi (Iran Cultural Centre), Prof. Dr. Rohan De Silva (President – Sri Lanka Small and Medium Industries). Special Guests were Aneurin Ignatius (First Secretary / Head of Chancery High Commission of Malaysia), Tissa Attanayake (MP), Premnath C. Dolawaththa (MP), K. Sujith Sanjaya Perera (MP), Dr. Chameera C. Yapa Abeywardana (PRO to Speaker), Bharath Arulsamy (Chairman – Plantation Human Development Trust).
The distinguished invitees were graciously welcomed by Dr. Anthony Dexter Fernando (Founder Chairman – BWIO International Chapter) and Dr. Tharindu Wijenayake (Deputy Chairman – BWIO International Chapter), Dr. M. A. A. Jabbar (Vice Charmain – BWIO Sri Lanka Chapter) and Dr. Emerita Wijenayake (Project Chairman – World Beauty Awards & International Women’s Achievers Awards BWIO – USA). The event was mesmerized with several vibrant performances by the talented dancers of Channa – Upuli Performing Arts Foundation and Jananath Warakagoda & Anthony Surendra. INS Sahyadri arrives at Port of Colombo

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sahyadri arrived at the Port of Colombo on a formal visit on Friday [04 Apr 25]. The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.
INS Sahyadri is a 143m long Frigate manned by a crew of 320 and the ship is commanded by Captain Rajat Kumar.
During their visit to the crew of INS Sahyadri will participate in events hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy, aimed to strengthen bilateral ties. They will also visit several tourist hotspots across the country.
Concluding the visit, INS Sahyadri is scheduled to set sail from Colombo on 07 Apr

JMSDF BUNGO and ETAJIMA depart island

Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) BUNGO and ETAJIMA which arrived in Sri Lanka on a goodwill visit on 01 Apr 25, departed the island on Friday [04 Apr].
The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ships at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions. Upon leaving, the duo of ships engaged in a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with SLNS Vijayabahu. The PASSEX involved training exercises in communication and tactical maneuvering, concluding with the traditional cheer ship salute.
During their stay in Colombo, crew members of the JMSDF ships took part in several programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy, aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation. In addition, they also explored some tourist attractions in Colombo. Further, personnel of Sri Lanka Navy had the opportunity to visit JMSDF BUNGO and ETAJIMA, gaining insights into their operational capabilities.
The Commanding Officers of JMSDF BUNGO and ETAJIMA, Commander TANAKA Koji and Commander ODA Takayuki called on Commander Western Naval Area, and Director General Operations, on 01 Apr.
