The French Cultural Season 2024 kicks off with a whole weekend dedicated to Breakdance!

Breakdance is one of the new disciplines represented at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Embassy of France invites the French multiple World Champion of breaking, Bboy Lilou, to join the battle judges and conduct workshops for both amateur and professional dancers.

In an effort to promote the professional Sri Lankan breaking scene, the country top break-dancers will gather for an amazing weekend of battle on the 3rd and 4th of August at the Royal MAS Arena in Colombo. The battles will be in three categories: 1v1 Pro Breaking, 1v1 Beginner Breaking, 1v1 All Style Dance. In an overheated atmosphere, MCs and DJs will be on hand to entertain competitors

and audiences alike. In addition to the battles, there will be workshops, panel discussions, all free and open to all.

Lilou came 10 years ago to Sri Lanka to organise dance workshops. He revolutionized breakdance in the country and trained a new generation of dancers, the same ones who will be competing in August! The visit of the dancer in Colombo will allow cultural exchange, enabling the teacher and the Sri Lankan dancers to share different lifestyles and approaches to Hip-Hop culture.

The French Embassy cultural centre extends an invitation to all dancers from all Sri Lanka to perform and compete!
