Atmospheric conditions are favorable for afternoon thunderstorms in Eastern, Uva Northern and North Central provinces.
Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Puttalam district while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern, Uva, Central, Northern and North-central provinces and in Kurunegala district during the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places.
Winds will be southerly or south-westerly and speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar, and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
