Atmospheric conditions are favorable for afternoon thunderstorms in Eastern, Central, North-Central and Northern provinces. Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Puttalam district. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern, Uva, Central, Northern and North-central provinces and in Kurunegala district during the evening or night and fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places.
Winds will be southerly and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar, and from Pottuvil to Batticaloa.

Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
