Army: Redeployment in line with ‘re-sizing’
Army headquarters yesterday (23) said that there was absolutely no basis for social media claims that some sections of troops had been relocated hastily.
These relocations were part of a long-term strategic plan under the Army’s resizing and restructuring measures, Director General Media and Physiological Operations Maj. Gen. Raisa Kumara said.
The official stressed that the whole process was being carried out under the supervision of the Commander of the Army, the Minister of Defence, and the Ministry of Defence, adhering to their directives and guidance.
Maj. Gen. Kumara alleged that such speculative claims could pose, what he called, a national security threat unless remedial measures were taken.
