An enhancement of showery condition over most parts of the island is expected during next few days from today (08th May).
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces during the morning.
A few showers may occur over the coastal areas of Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most provinces of the island after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places in North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
Winds will be southwesterly or variable and wind speed will be (20-30)kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Batticaloa to Hambanthota via Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Batticaloa to Hambanthota via Pottuvil can be fairly rough at times but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers

Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-Western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura and Mannar districts.
