JAYASRI Twins

After a long stint in Sri Lanka, from last year October (2022), till May this year, the JAYASRI Twins are back in Austria.

While in Sri Lanka, they did many gigs for their local fans, and also embarked on tours to Australia, with other local artistes, performing in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Tasmania, Brisbane and Perth, and took in the Middle East, as well – Dubai and Bahrain – and also Canada.

The Twins are now operating with their full band, JAYASRI, and are busy doing summer festivals and concerts in Europe.

Their big scene, they say, will be the AFRIKA TAGE Open air festival in Vienna, Austria, on 17th August.

The festival, I’m told, will be for 16 days and will include international acts, like Inner Circle, Sona Jobarteh, Nneka and many reggae and African bands and artistes.

JAYASRI will also be seen in action in Florence, Milano, Napoli, Verona, and Rome, in Italy, and Paris, in France.

Elaborating on their trip to Toronto, in Canada, they said the highlight was performing with the twins Sarith-Surith and The News band and with legendary Sohan Weerasinghe, on the 9th of June, at the Grand Cinnamon Banquet and Convention Hall, in Toronto.

JAYASRI: Concerts in Sri Lanka, later this year

Later this year, they have a New Zealand trip lined up that will take in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington.

They have also released a new song with a music video of ‘Alawanthi’.

JAYASRI, the full band, comprising Rohitha, Rohan, Sumal, Moses, Parvez, Bidu and Herb, has plans to visit Sri Lanka, later this year, for some concerts…with a difference, they say!
