A PAATHYA initiative …with a promise of livelihood

Taj Samudra, Colombo accepted the biggest initiative under the PAATHYA banner to build livelihoods. Paathya is an extension of IHCL’s century old legacy which forges a journey focused on Environmental Stewardship, Social Responsibility, Excellence in Governance, Preserving Heritage, Value Chain Transformation, and Sustainable Growth. The aspiration and commitment to strengthen the resolve of contributing to the society with positive impact is the underlying driving force for this project.

Under the Paathya pillars – PROMISE and PARTNER Taj Samudra commenced the initiative of imparting skills to create smiles. It encompasses of training orphan / war destitute kids in bakery skills, helping them to make a livelihood out of it. A total of 26 kids have been enrolled in the program. The program has been launched in collaboration with Vajira Sri Children’s Development Centre. The inauguration of this project was done by Shri Gopal Baglay- High Commissioner of India and Area Director TAJ Maldives and Sri Lanka and General Manager Mr. Samrat Datta recently

The event included the inauguration of the training bSakery/ distribution of the bakery tool kits and commencement of the bakery classes. The program spans over twelve weeks and would finally culminate with test and certification .
