Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
