A brighter future …

Melantha Perera is certainly doing yeoman service for the music scene.
In addition to keeping music lovers entertained, as a musician and singer, he is also very active as a teacher, where music is concerned.
Last week, the visually impaired students of his music school, Riversheen School of Music, who operate as Bright Light, were in for a big surprise.
They were overjoyed to receive a generous gift of a drum set, donated by Dayantha De Silva, Dushan De Silva, and Chandane Jayamanne.
According to Melantha, the thoughtful contribution significantly boosts the students’ musical journey, providing them with a new way to express themselves and enhance their skills.
Melantha says he is incredibly grateful for the donation.
“Yes, it will make my online teaching much easier with this new equipment, and I’m confident that the students will have even more opportunities to thrive, learn, and grow in the virtual classroom with greater ease.”
The versatile artiste went on to say that he has big plans for the Bright Light band, including a concert featuring these visually handicapped musicians.
