Dialog continues patronage of Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera
Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s #1 connectivity provider, supported the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera 2026, marking its 21st year of patronage and continuing its longstanding commitment to preserving and celebrating Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage through the sponsorship of one of the country’s most significant religious and cultural traditions.
Held from 15 to 29 July 2026, the annual Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera brought together thousands of devotees and visitors from across Sri Lanka. As a long-term patron of the Perahera, Dialog extended its support once again to help sustain this important cultural celebration. The company’s contribution forms part of its continued support for nationally significant religious and cultural events, including the Kandy Esala Perahera, Gangaramaya Navam Maha Perahera, Kelaniya Duruthu Festival and Gatabaru Esala Perahera.
Beyond supporting major cultural events, Dialog has undertaken several heritage preservation initiatives that contribute to protecting and promoting Sri Lanka’s historical and religious legacy. These efforts include the construction of the vestibule for the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, the launch of a website and directory for Amarapura Maha Nikaya temples, and the restoration of the Anuradhapura Maha Vihara Sannipatha Shalawa. Through these initiatives, Dialog continues to play an active role in preserving the traditions, values and cultural landmarks that form an integral part of Sri Lanka’s heritage.
