Level III Landslide early warnings issued to the Districts of Badulla, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Monaragala and Nuwara Eliya
The Landslide Early Warning Centre of the National Building Research Organisation [NBRO] has issued RED alerts to the districts of Badulla, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Monaragala and Nuwara Eliya valid from 02:00 hrs on 28.11.2025 To 02:00 hrs on 29.11.2025
Accordingly,
LEVEL III [RED] landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Kandeketiya, Lunugala, Meegahakivula, Hali_Ela, Welimada, Uva Paranagama, Bandarawela, Passara, Badulla, Soranathota and Ella in the Badulla district, Pathahewaheta, Pathadumbara, Gangawata Korale, Doluwa, Ganga Ihala Korale, Ududumbara, Udapalatha, Panvila, Poojapitiya, Deltota, Kundasale, Thumpane, Minipe, Harispattuwa, Akurana, Medadumbara, Pasbage Korale, Yatinuwara, Hatharaliyadda and Udunuwara in the Kandy district, Dehiowita, Bulathkohupitiya, Mawanella, Aranayaka, Kegalle, Yatiyanthota, Galigamuwa and Rambukkana in the Kegalle district, Mallawapitiya, Rideegama and Mawathagama in the Kurunegala district, Yatawatta, Laggala Pallegama, Pallepola, Ambanganga Korale, Ukuwela, Naula, Matale, Rattota and Wilgamuwa in the Matale district, Bibila and Medagama in the Monaragala district, and Hanguranketha, Nuwara Eliya, Kotmale East, Kothmale West, Mathurata, Nildandahinna, Thalawakele, Norwood, Ambagamuwa and Walapane in the Nuwara Eliya district.
LEVEL II [AMBER] landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Haldummulla and Haputhale in the Badulla district, Padukka and Seethawaka in the Colombo district, Thawalama and Neluwa in the Galle district, Deraniyagala, Warakapola and Ruwanwella in the Kegalle district, Alawwa, Narammala and Polgahawela in the Kurunegala district, Badalkumbura and Wellawaya in the Monaragala district, and Kalawana, Elapatha, Nivithigala, Eheliyagoda, Kuruwita, Balangoda, Imbulpe, Ayagama, Kolonna, Kahawaththa, Openayake and Ratnapura in the Ratnapura district.
LEVEL I [YELLOW] landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Attanagalla in the Gampaha district, Okewela, Beliatta, Tangalle, Walasmulla and Weeraketiya in the Hambanthota district, Mulatiyana, Kamburupitiya, Pitabeddara, Malimbada, Pasgoda, Thihagoda, Hakmana, Kirinda_Puhulwella, Kotapola, Matara_Four_Gravets, Welipitiya, Dickwella, Athuraliya, Weligama, Akuressa and Devinuwara in the Matara district, and Weligepola, Pelmadulla, Kiriella, Kaltota Godakawela and Embilipitiya in the Ratnapura district.

Cabinet nod to establish the Sri Lanka Industrial Transformation and innovation Authority
Approval was granted by the Cabinet of Ministers at the cabinet meeting held on 17-03-2025 to establish a single, more effective institution by merging the Industrial Development Board, the National Entrepreneurship Development Authority and Small Business development Division under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development to provide industrial and enterpriser development services in a more organized and efficient manner.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship
Development has initiated the establishment of the Sri Lankan Industrial Transformation and Innovation Authority with the objective of minimizing duplication of work, strengthening the provision of institutional services, and building a national integrated platform for industrial and transformation, entrepreneurship promotion and export-oriented enterprise development under a three phase framework of conceptualization, strategic planning and implementation.
Action is being taken at present to obtain the necessary technological assistance under the Policy based loan program of the Asian Development Bank.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development to take further action according to the proposed draft concept framework regarding the ‘the Sri Lanka Industrial Transformation and innovation Authority.
