A low-level atmospheric disturbance has developed over the south east of the Island.
Cloudy skies are expected over most parts of the island with Showers or thundershowers will occur at times. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-western, Southern and Northern provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts after 2.00 p.m. Dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the Central hills, the North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Matale districts.
