Showers may occur in the Western and Southern coastal areas in the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-central and North-western provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Rainy conditions are expected to increase in the southwestern parts of the island from this evening (02 June).
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in these areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 1.00 pm.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
