Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
Winds will be south-westerly in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (25-35) kmph in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Batticaloa to Kankasanthurai via Trincomalee and from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle and can increase up to 50 kmph at times in these sea areas.
Wind speed will be (35-45) kmph in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil and can increase up to 60 kmph at times in these sea areas.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be rough at times while the sea areas off the coasts extending from Batticaloa to Kankasanthurai via Trincomalee and from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle can be fairly rough at times.
Naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive in this regard.

A low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal around 23rd November. Thereafter, it is likely to intensify into a depression over southwest Bay of Bengal during subsequent 2 days. The system may intensify further and move near the Eastern coast of Sri Lanka. General public is requested to be attentive to the future forecasts and bulletins issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regards.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces during the morning.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces and in Matale district while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere of the island during the evening or night. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces.
Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Matale district.
Winds will be north-easterly in direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (45-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mullaittivu to Colombo via Kankasanthurai, Mannar and Puttalam.
The sea areas extending from Mullaittivu to Colombo via Kankasanthurai, Mannar and Puttalam will be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
