Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
A few showers are likely in Eastern province and in Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night. Mainly dry weather will prevail in the other areas of the island.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (20-30)kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm. Dry weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in
Anuradhapura, Mannar and Vavuniya districts.
The Heat Index Forecast is calculated by using relative humidity and maximum temperature and this is the condition that is felt on your body. This is not the forecast of maximum temperature. It is generated by the Department of Meteorology for the next day period and prepared by using global numerical weather prediction model data.
Effect of the heat index on human body is mentioned in the above table and it is prepared on the advice of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
ACTION REQUIRED
Job sites: Stay hydrated and takes breaks in the shade as often as possible.
Indoors: Check up on the elderly and the sick.
Vehicles: Never leave children unattended.
Outdoors: Limit strenuous outdoor activities, find shade and stay hydrated.
Dress: Wear lightweight and white or light-colored clothing.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Southern, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts after 2.00 pm. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts. Dry weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
