Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces in the morning.

A few showers will occur in Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces and in Matale district. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.

 

Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be moderate but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showery condition over the island is expected to reduce from tomorrow (15th) 

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the early hours of the morning.

A few showers are likely in the Uva, Eastern and Central provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Western province and in Galle, Matara and Rathnapura districts after 2.00 p.m. Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere after 1.00 pm. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Northwestern, Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
