More SL workers Israel bound

Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) has announced that another group of Sri Lankans will leave for Israel tomorrow (30).

SLFEB spokesperson Madushan Kularatne said that in spite of the raging conflict, Sri Lankans working in the Jewish state were safe. According to him, altogether 61 persons would be leaving for Israel tomorrow, Nov 06 and Nov. 16.

The official said that all of them would join the agriculture sector there. After the war erupted in the wake of Hamas’ invasion of southern Israel on Oct. 07 last year, Sri Lanka dispatched 2,447 agriculture sector workers.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya secured 5 seats, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna [SLPP] secured 3 seats while the United National Party [NPP], the Sarvajana Balaya and the Independent group secured one seat each.
