The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Prime Minister, in her capacity as the Minister of Justice, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Labour to appoint Mrs. R.M.N.E.K.Ranasinghe, who is serving as the Additional Secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Labour at present, to the post of Director General of Combined Services on acting basis.

Cabinet nod to accept Chinese government grant of 11.82 million meters of fabric

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted the approval to the proposal  presented by  the Prime Minister in her capacity as the Minister of Education, Science and Technology to accept the grant offered by the Chinese government to supply school uniform fabric and to distribute the fabric among the school and Sunday school students for 2025.

The People’s Republic of China has agreed to provide 11.82 million meters of fabric required to provide uniforms to school and Sunday school students in 2025 as a grant.

Samples of the fabric have been examined  by the Sri Lanka Textile and Apparel Institute (SLITA) and has been recommended as suitable.

Galle Face ground to be managed in a more systematic and transparent manner

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted  approval to the proposal presented by the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation to take necessary steps to make the administration of the Galle Face Ground more systematic and transparent under the   “clean and greenery”  concept.

At present Sri Lanka Ports Management and Consultation Services (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka Ports Authority, has to incur a cost of between Rs2.5 million to Rs3 million per month for the maintenance of the Galle Face Ground.
