Women in Tech, the leading global organization for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in STEAM with a mission to empower five million women by 2030, has appointed Colombo-based PR agency Mark and Comm Ltd as its Strategic Communications Partner for the Sri Lanka Chapter.

The agreement was signed on August 26 at Uga Residence by Women in Tech Sri Lanka Chapter Ambassador Chathini Uduwana, also Vice President People and Country Head at Typefi Systems, and Mark and Comm Ltd Managing Director Thanzyl Thajudeen. The signing was also attended by Women in Tech Sri Lanka Chapter Director of Partnerships Jezla Latiff and Mark and Comm Ltd Director Chamanie Nanayakkara.

Launched in Sri Lanka in November last year, Women in Tech’s Sri Lanka Chapter has already made significant strides, including a panel discussion at Monsoon Colombo. With chapters in 48 countries and a global membership of over 200,000, the organization continues to expand its global reach.

Chathini Uduwana expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with Mark and Comm for their extensive experience in strategic communications. Together, we aim to boost our visibility and advocacy efforts, empowering women and building a passionate movement to advance our vision.”

Thanzyl Thajudeen added, “Sri Lanka has significant potential in STEAM fields, particularly among women. We are honored to support Women in Tech Sri Lanka Chapter in raising awareness and advocating for reforms to enhance STEAM education and opportunities.”
