Why High-Powered China delegation now?

It is reported that a top level Chinese delegation has arrived in Sri Lanka and they have been subjected only to PCR test and not quarantine. The purpose of the one-day visit is said to strengthen cooperation between China and Sri Lanka, and the revival of economic relations. There appears to be something strange, as the matters to be discussed do not warrant such a high powered delegation, and could have been taken up at a later date without such a hurry; when our country settles down, after taking action to curb the alarming increase in Covid-19.

There appears to be something more serious, unable to divulge, as at present China is worried of American and Indian presence in the area, and also Japan, whose Light Rail Project has been abruptly terminated on frivolous grounds. Whatever it be, we have to trust President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who pledged he will steer clear our country away from power blocks. Let him not be forced by interested parties to break those pledges/promises made during the Presidential election and after, and tarnish him. Let this country not be a pawn on the table of powers to be sacrificed.
