Walkovers at 105th Colombo Championships

Dumindu Dilum and Luca Knese and Kavisha Ratnayaka and Akila Vimukthi registered victories to secure semi-final sports in the men’s doubles tournament as the 105th Colombo Championships continued to witness walkovers during the crucial stage at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts on Monday.

Dilum and Knese beat Nishendiran Sivendran and Michael Siyaguna 6-2, 6-3 to win their quarter-final encounter while Ratnayaka and Vimukthi edged out H. Parameshwaran and Rayan Bentharage 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the semis.

While Chathurya Nilaweera and Thehan Wijemanne received a walkover from Amresh Jayawickreme and Arvind Fernando, Savit Weerasinghe and Vibuda Wijebandara received a walkover from Jaitra de Saram and Zaidh Zihar in their quarter-finals.

 

Results of the women’s doubles quarter-finals

Neyara Weerawansa and Tuvini de Alwis beat Yasodara Koralege and Shehara Medawala 6-1, 6-1

Savini Jayasuriya and Janali Manamperi beat Sethmi Sumanaweera and Oneli Perera 6-0, 5-7, 10-7

Saajida Razick and Dinethya Dharmaratne beat Nesangi Hemakumara and Vishmi Serasinghe 5-7, 6-1, 10-8.
