Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, C. Satkunarajah has given strict instructions to the Deans of its faculties to ensure that the answer scripts of students are marked without delay.

To make sure this happens, he has instructed the Deans to set the dates in advance for the setting of papers, the first marking, second marking, approval of heads of department, approval of Dean and the handover of marks to examination department.

The VC has also told the council meeting that he would put in place a mechanism to cancel the payment for lecturers who delay marking of answer scripts and impose a fine.

The Vice Chancellor gave these strict instructions when an audit report criticising the unprecedented delay in releasing the exam results was presented at the council meeting on 1 Nov, 2020
