Thunderstorms today in Uva, Eastern provinces and several districts
The Meteorology Department yesterday said that thunderstorms accompanied by severe lightning were likely to occur at several places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Jaffna districts today.
There might be temporary localised strong winds during thunderstorms, the department said.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
