Thirteen officers ready for naval service

Commandant of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) Commodore Rohan Joseph said that the Navy expected officers to be fully dedicated to fulfilling their duties with efficiency and this could be achieved by enhancing professional competence.

Addressing the passing out parade of 13 naval officers who had completed Basic Orientation Course (Medical) at the main parade ground of the NMA, Trincomalee, the Chief Guest of the event congratulated them on their achievement while paying a glowing tribute to their parents giving consent to their children who joined the noble profession.

The distinguished ceremony saw 13 medical officers from the 35th intake of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), who followed Basic Orientation Course, marched off with pride and honour on completion of their training.
