The Tense Wait
By Lynn Ockersz
In the little fabled land,
Known for its devotions without end,
Truth has taken a fatal hit,
And is no longer a sacred thing,
Amid a blame game among famous names,
But as state bodies ponderously sit,
Harried citizens footing the bill,
Among themselves thus quip:
‘Are we waiting in vain,
For even a semblance of Justice?’
