A teacher, who is alleged to have leaked the Grade 06 and 07 third-term examination papers in the North Central Province, has been suspended.

The North Central Province Education Secretary Sirimevan Dharmasena said the teacher had been interdicted with immediate effect for leaking the exam papers on social media.

Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, said that in a separate incident, the Grade 11 Sinhala Literature third-term examination paper of government schools in the North Central Province had been leaked.

Thereafter, it was reported that the Grade 11 Science and English language third-term examination papers of government schools in the North Central Province had also been leaked prior to the exams scheduled for 07 and 08 January, respectively.

Following the leaking of examination papers, authorities had decided to postpone the examinations, Stalin said, adding that the government must take immediate action to prevent leaking of examination papers.
