Tamil Academy by Chintha Wijesooriya honoured for excellence in Tamil education

Tamil Academy by Chintha Wijesooriya has been recognized as a leader in Tamil education in Sri Lanka, earning multiple prestigious awards in 2024. The academy received the Pinnacle Award for Best Tamil Academy of the Year, the Women Legend Award for Best Tamil Teacher of the Year, and the Asia Business Award for the Most Trusted Tamil Class in Sri Lanka. Founded by Chintha Wijesooriya, the academy has rapidly gained prominence for its structured and student-focused approach to Tamil learning. Beyond teaching the language, its mission is to empower society through multilingual education.

Wijesooriya, the driving force behind the academy’s success, is a highly qualified educator with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kelaniya, a Higher Diploma in Tamil from the Buddhist and Pali University, and a Diploma in Tamil from the University of Kelaniya. She has also completed Special Speech Training in Tamil from the Official Language Department and holds a Certificate in Spoken Tamil from the University of Colombo. Additionally, she has earned two diplomas in Hindi and a Diploma in Counseling from the University of Kelaniya. Tamil Academy offers online classes for students from Grade 2 to Ordinary Level at affordable rates. Lessons are conducted via Zoom, using state-of-the-art studio facilities to provide live interactive sessions, structured syllabus coverage, timed paper-writing sessions, and repeat classes.
